Q:Can I chat with a doctor online?
A:Yes, you can chat with a doctor online. Our network of board-certified medical practitioners are available via chat. They can diagnose, prescribe medication for treatment, issue prescription refills, and more.
Q:Do online doctors work?
A:Online doctors work great for non-emergency medical care. SCG Health-affiliated medical practitioners are equipped to treat and prescribe for most general medical issues. Medical practitioners are available 7 days a week, no appointment required.
Q:Are there any conditions that SCG Health does not treat?
A:SCG Health-affiliated medical practitioners can diagnose and treat most things you might see an in-person primary care doctor for. However, there are certain circumstances where we may recommend that you see your doctor in person. For example, ear infections and strep throat are two common conditions that require in-person consultation and diagnosis. However, SCG Health-affiliated medical practitioners can help assess severity and provide guidance on what to do next. We also do not treat women with any pregnancy-related symptoms or any patients with orthopedic problems.
In addition, we do not prescribe controlled drugs or other high-risk drugs that are susceptible to abuse.
Service and Fee
Q:What is the service hour of SCG Health?
A:SCG Health’s service hours are 9:00a.m. – 9:00p.m. (Monday to Sunday, including public holidays).
Q:How much is the video consultation cost?
A:The consultation fee is fixed at HKD $218, while the medication and delivery fee may be varied. At present, the total cost is around HKD $348-398.
Q:Does SCG Health accept offline payment?
A:At present, SCG Health only accept online payment via credit cards.
Q:Will there be medicine, medical certificate and/ or referral letter?
A: If a medical practitioner renders it necessary and appropriate based on his professional judgement after a consultation, the doctor may issue medical certificates (e.g. sick leave certificate) and/or referral letters and/or prescribe medication for you. The e-copies of medical certificate and/or referral letter will be available on the mobile app immediately after the consultation is completed.
Q:Does SCG Health delivery medications?
A:You will receive your medicines, medical certificate and/or referral letter via delivery arranged by SCG Health. We aim to deliver the medicines to you within four (4) hours after completion of your consultation and payment of medication fee. The e-copy of medical certificate and/or referral letter will be available on the app immediately after consultation is completed. If you require true copies of the medical certificate and/or referral letter, we will mail such documents to you separately.
Q:Why is ID document needed before seeing a doctor?
A:The medical practitioner may request a User to show the medical practitioner via the video consultation the identification document (e.g. his Hong Kong Identity Card) used to book for the video consultation on SCG Health in order for the medical practitioner to verify the identity of the User. If the User fails to do so, the medical practitioner may in his discretion reject the User for the video consultation.
Q:Is SCG Health suitable for all people?
A:Please note that pregnant ladies and children under 12 years of age may not book to see a doctor on SCG Health. If you have any symptoms which may require immediate medical attention, SCG Health is not suitable for you. At the time of the video consultation, the user must physically be in Hong Kong.
Privacy and Electronic records
Q:Is the data I share with SCG Health Health private?
A:We are committed to processing your Data in accordance with the required standards. We may collect, use and hold a range of different Data about you. For the purposes of carrying on our business of providing the SCG Health platform which facilitates the provision of medical and healthcare services by medical practitioners to eligible users (including the verification of your identity, the registration, activation and management of your account with us, and billing and charging) and complying with laws, rules, guidelines, regulations and/or requests issued by applicable government authorities, courts, law enforcement or other authorities or regulatory bodies.
Q:Does SCG Health record the video consultation?
A:No. Any medical consultation is between you and the relevant medical practitioner, subject to the medical practitioner satisfying himself that you are suitable for a telemedicine interaction, without any involvement of or visibility to SCG Health.
Q:Can I delete my SCG Health account?
A:Yes. If you wish to cancel your registration with SCG Health or terminate your SCG Health account, please fill in and return our designated termination form. You may obtain a termination form by emailing Customer Service at [email protected]. Upon receiving a duly completed termination form, your SCG Health account will usually be terminated within seven (7) working days
